Award winning documentary photographer is looking for young women to collaborate
in a documentary project about our lifestyle in a consumption oriented culture of desire.
We own already 10 20 30 or even more pairs of shoes, dresses, shirts and still we go and buy more every new season. We are surrounded by advertising, telling us that buying will make us happy, beautiful, healthy aso.. We are encouraged by politicians to consume and spend as a way of boosting the economy. And we all want to have what those perfectly looking and happy people on the screens around us have - consumerism has become a measure of our social worth.
I am hoping to capture moments of your every day life for a documentary and artistic photo project, showing a close but anonymous series of a consumption-oriented lifestyle which reflects our culture of desire. I'd accompany you for some time with my old-school, medium format, analogue camera during a period of 2-4 weeks, creating a documentary Photo project which aims to be published and exhibited.
This series might not even show your face, it aims to depict this topic from a close and poetic but also general point of view allowing the viewer to identify with the subject and this way realizing how much shopping has become part of our cultural and personal identity.
Please email me with 3-4 lines about yourself. documentary.now@me.com
Don't wait too long and get in touch! Looking forward to hear from you!
