FRAGMENTS OF A GEORGIAN SUMMER
Anna von Stackelberg spent July and August 2008 photographing in the Republic of Georgia. Her work aims at establishing a portrait of Georgia as a former Soviet Republic twenty years down the line from independence. In choosing to show this work rather than the photos she took during the unexpected war that broke out on August 8th, she hopes to depict a side of Georgia that was largely ignored in the coverage of the war. In still-lifes, landscapes and portraits she captures the state of in-between that is present in all facets of the country.
